Details:

SEA/RENUE is running a project called Energy Conscious Households in Action (ECHO Action), to help groups and communities reduce their household energy consumption by at least 10% over a period of a year. We aim to work with about 200 households in total. Our sustainable energy experts are running monthly workshops and talks in a variety of venues covering a range of energy saving topics which are free of charge to participating groups. Everyone can choose their level of involvement and any member of the household can attend the meetings.

We are looking for a volunteer who is great with people and has the organisational skills to help us to make this a really successful project. The communities must agree to attend most of the meetings, and to keep a record of their fuel bills and their petrol receipts for the duration of the project, and they are also asked to complete tasks at each of the meetings. The training is on a wide range of topics, from insulating your home, through to installing renewable energy, from looking at travel options through to energy efficient cooking. Each group selects the topics in which they feel they would like some help, and are then encouraged to effect changes in their own households. We look at innovative ways of helping people to make positive change, rather than leaving them with the feeling that climate change can only be tackled by denying themselves things.

We particularly need help with the following:—
* Recruitment of householders
* Data entry and management of the ECHO Action database.
* Keeping in contact with participants through email and phone
* Helping with publicity and encouraging people to take part
* Processing and analysing data related to energy consumption
* Arranging meetings
* Printing and collating materials for meetings

If you have a burning passion for particular topic, we would also be happy to incorporate this into the range of training, and to deliver training in that topic, if you wanted to (although this would not be compulsory.)
