Relaunch of SEA Renue under new name: Carbon Descent

In with the new...

We are delighted to announce that last Thursday, 3rd July, we launched our new name, Carbon Descent, at an event in City Hall.

Hosted by Murad Qureshi AM, the evening provided an overview of SEA Renue’s history, some recent project successes and a snapshot of some exciting initiatives for the coming year.

The keynote speech: ‘Aviation in Climate Change Strategy: Disaster or Distraction?’ by Dr Victoria Williams, from Imperial College’s Centre for Transport Studies, looked at issues from comparative CO2 emissions per passenger km to the science of radiative forcing and placed these in the context of carbon reduction targets.

The presentations from the night will shortly be available from our new website: www.carbondescent.org.uk.

Please remember to update your records to Carbon Descent. Our email and website address have changed to carbondescent.org.uk, but all our other details remain the same as detailed below.

Following the merger of the social enterprise and charity, the branches of the new entity SEA Renue spread across the areas of energy, resource use, transport, the built environment and renewables. As awareness of climate change has grown, so has our client base which now encompasses regional bodies such as Greater London Authority and Transport for London. To accommodate this growth, in January of this year we moved to new premises in Long Lane, Borough.
