Community Kitchens Project

Community Kitchens Project works with community groups in Islington, to promote healthy eating and healthy living, make healthy food more available and also create training & employment opportunities.

Information, training and support are offered in nutrition and healthy eating, food safety, practical cookery, shopping/budgeting and exercise. This is done by offering a range of services including workshops, exercise classes, cook & taste courses and stalls at events in Islington.

Community Kitchens Project runs a weight management programme called Stepping Stones and also leads the Health Trainer Scheme for Islington, which provides one to one support to help people wishing to make changes to their lifestyle.

The Project works to reduce illnesses such as heart disease, stroke and cancers by supporting people to become healthier. Community Kitchens works with all people from the local community including those on low incomes, homeless people, BME groups, young people and older people.
