The Capital Growth Campaign has helped establish more than 50 new Community Beehives in
Greater London and has trained People in Beekeeping.
Bees play an integral part in food production. They are responsible for the pollination of more than 40 food crops in Britain, including apples, pears, cherries and melons.
The growing popularity of urban beekeeping was showcased at the London Honey Festival in August, where more than half a tonne of honey from 18 apiaries was on sale.
