ALTERNERGY SUPPORTS THE BRE’s ‘S PLAN’ SUSTAINABILITY INITIATIVE

London, UK — 29th May 2012
Alternergy, a distributor of solar photovoltaic solutions, has supplied the new roof-mounted PV installation at the large research and office complex for the Building Research Establishment (BRE) in Garston near Watford. The new system has been installed to help reduce the BRE’s carbon footprint.
BRE’s S Plan sets out a four-year programme of continuous improvement across eight key areas of sustainability:
carbon dioxide emissions; resource efficiency; supply chain engagement; transport; community engagement; ecology; water; and information systems.
Alternergy operates only at the quality end of the Solar PV market and supplied this installation with:
• 128 high performance REC 230 watt modules; and
• two SMA Tripower 15000 three phase inverters
South Facing, based in Hemel Hempstead, secured and carried out the installation after winning a very competitive bid for the job. For the BRE, it was critically important that the products and companies met the very high and exacting standards set by them. Alternergy was chosen due to their ability to manage the complex logistics involved in an installation of this size.
The installation required the use of a crane, which made the delivery and timing of the materials crucial. Overall, the products needed to meet the requirements of high quality, superior energy generation, from trusted brands with strong warranties backed up by manufacturers that are viewed as being financially strong and stable.
Alternergy also stocks other quality products from Suntech, Hyundai, Panasonic, and Sovello. They sell Kostal inverters, K2 and Renusol mounting systems, along with Elster, Santon, Lapp, and other accessories.
Rajiv Bhatia, Managing Director of Alternergy said, “We were proud to be selected as the supplier of choice for such a prestigious installation. With such exacting requirements on quality and delivery, Alternergy was one of very few companies that had the ability to deliver.”
