EDUCATION OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM
Launched in November 2006, the ‘Learning Outside the Classroom’ Manifesto aims to set out a shared vision for out-of-the-classroom learning that Schools, Youth Groups, local Authorities and other providers can sign up to, underpinned by practical actions.
This new event will explore the scope of Learning Outside the Classroom and the benefits to children and young people. It will look at the barriers to out of classroom learning, including Child Welfare and Safety issues and how these might be overcome. It will also look at the opportunities for partnerships between schools, youth groups and other providers to support Learning Outside the Classroom and links with other initiatives, including Extended Schools, Every Child Matters, Youth Matters and the DCSF Sustainable Schools Action Plan.
This event will be of interest to teachers, youth workers, and organisations working with schools to encourage out of the classroom learning.
