ENCOURAGING PARTICIPATION — a Toolkit of approaches for Communities and others

Filed under: Training  Community Support & Services

This lively, introductory event places the theory for community participation in the context of practical tools and techniques which can be used when working with local people.

It will provide an overview of participation theory, current practice and why it is important especially in funding rounds. It will give you the confidence to use a range of practical tools, techniques and approaches for working with and involving communities, enabling you to help build community input and ownership.

The event is primarily aimed at staff working with communities, such as on New Deal for Communities, environmental improvements, Neighbourhood Renewal, and in NGOs, however many of the techniques and processes can also be used in meetings and events with business, public and voluntary sector staff, as well as with volunteers.
