National Ethical Investment Week

I am asking for your help in spreading the word within London 21 Sustainability Network — and to your own members, supporters and the general public, about the first-ever National Ethical Investment Week, to be held from 18th- 24th May 2008 throughout the UK.

National Ethical Investment Week is organised by the UK Social Investment Forum working with financial institutions, charities, faith-based and community organisations. The National Ethical Investment Week supporters include WWF-UK, Oxfam and the Community Development Finance Association (CDFA).

By choosing a green or ethical investment, consumers can ensure that their money not only works hard for them, but can also help society and the environment.

We hope that you will encourage your members, supporters and the general public to reflect on the social and environmental impact of their finances and consider green and ethical investments as an option.

Below are some suggestions of how to get involved:—

• Add the NEIW logo to your own website, linking to www.neiw.org;
• Distribute our postcards, bookmarks and posters within the organisation and community;
• Add an item to your newsletter encouraging individuals to find out more about green and ethical investment by visiting our NEIW website;
• Use NEIW to highlight the work the organisation may have done on ethical/social investments;
• Allow us to list you as a supporter on our website for the Week.
