Taking Root: The Vision of Wangari Maathai — Local Screening on 14th March
On Sunday 14th March, Transition Leytonstone will be hosting a screening of Taking Root: The Vision of Wangari Maathai.
Taking Root is the inspiring story of The Green Belt Movement in Kenya. Planting trees for fuel, food and timber, Wangari Maathai helped to reclaim her country's land from a century of deforestation, empowering women in the process and winning the Nobel Peace Prize for her work.
